When energy intake is higher than energy loss, fat cells accumulate in our body tissues thus resulting in obesity. A good balance of energy is always required, which is merely the result of constant proper exercise. If we keep on consuming high calorie foods without losing enough calories to make a balance, we tend to gain weight. Obesity is not a process of a week or two. When we keep this routine for a long time, and then over-weight results in obesity.
5. Laziness:
Laziness is another culprit. Lowering of body activity levels for daily energy expenditure and increased calorie intake due to consumption of processed foods have together taken a toll, increasing the prevalence of obesity.

Hormonal changes keep on taking place in our body. It is a periodic process that takes place at different stages of our life. Generally, these changes take place during teenage, pregnancy and menopause, as a result of which, women tend to gain wait during these phases of their lives. `Sometimes, due to imbalance of hormones in body also leads to obesity.
7. Genes or Heredity:
In a few cases, obesity flows through genes from generations to generations. If parents suffer obesity, then the child gains obesity just like parents, due to heredity.
